Poly Lactic Acid based Biodegradable Films

The Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) and corn starch-based biodegradable films were developed by ICAR-CIAE using the commercial extrusion blown molding method. The thickness of the developed films varied from 20 to 90 µm.

Motorized Soybean Dehuller

ICAR-CIAE has developed a power-operated soybean dehuller which is used for the removal of the non-edible outer hull of a soybean kernel.. In addition to dehulling, these dehullers split the soybean cotyledons into two parts (generally referred to as soy-dal) and separate the hulls and broken from the soy-dal/soy-splits.

Soybean Paneer Plant

ICAR-CIAE has developed a compact cottage level soymilk and tofu plant that requires only 5 × 4 m of space. It consists of a steam generator, a grinder-cum-cooker, an extractor, and a soy-paneer press, all made of stainless steel. LPG powers the steam generator, and a two hp three-phase motor operates the grinder motor. The capacity of paneer plant is 50 kg of high quality soy-paneer or 300 liters of milk per day of 8 hours. It consists of a steam generator, a grinder-cum-cooker, an extractor, and a soy-paneer press, all made of stainless steel.

Cleaner cum Grader

Soybean received from the threshing yard contains many unwanted foreign materials such as stones, mud particles, straw, other food grains, and dust. These need to be removed before the beans can be utilized for processing and get a good quality food product. For this purpose, a pedal-cum-power operated air screen cleaner has been developed.

Soybean Flaking Machine

Like rice and corn flakes available in the market, soybean flakes can also be prepared and used as a snack food. These protein-rich flakes may be used without or after supplementing them with other conventional cereal snacks taken in our daily diets to increase their protein content. ICAR-CIAE has developed a soybean flaking machine for producing soy flakes. The machine, powered by a one hp single phase motor, has a capacity of 20 kg/h.

Soy Chaap

Soy chaap offers great potential for developing value-added and affordable protein-rich functional food products. It will provide a quality protein at a low cost with good sensory characteristics. The process technology of soy-based food product "Soy Chaap" with high protein content has been developed by ICAR-CIAE.
