The main focus of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering Division is development of appropriate management technologies of irrigation and drainage equipment/ systems for improving systems efficiency to save water and energy.
The division has mainly following thrust areas under which all research activities are carried out:
1. Development of micro irrigation based fertigation system.
2. Development and demonstration of package of systems for agricultural drainage and rainwater harvesting and utilization of harvested water for sustainable cultivation of high value crops using MIS.
3. Improvements in design and selection of irrigation pumps for energy efficient operation.
